Kovakkai/Tindora/Ivy Gourd Fry

Ingredients:

  • Kovakkai ~ washed and chopped into small discs
  • Sambhar powder ~ to taste
  • Urud dal, Channa dal ~ a Tbsp. each
  • Mustard seeds ~ a tsp.
  • Red chili ~ 1

Steps:

  • In a pan, add some oil and once hot, add mustard seeds. Once they have spluttered, add the dals and fry till golden brown. Add the red chili to this.
  • Immediately add the chopped kovakkai with salt and sambhar powder, sprinkle some water, close the lid and let it cook until done.
