- Kovakkai ~ washed and chopped into small discs
- Sambhar powder ~ to taste
- Urud dal, Channa dal ~ a Tbsp. each
- Mustard seeds ~ a tsp.
- Red chili ~ 1
- In a pan, add some oil and once hot, add mustard seeds. Once they have spluttered, add the dals and fry till golden brown. Add the red chili to this.
- Immediately add the chopped kovakkai with salt and sambhar powder, sprinkle some water, close the lid and let it cook until done.
